The AMN is composed of the General Assembly and the Deliberative Council, the latter formed by National Standardization Bodies (NSB) representatives of the MERCOSUR States Parties and responsible for the Mercosur Sectoral Committees constitution to carry out their tasks in the areas of specific sectoral interest.
The General Assembly is the organ of the ultimate authority of the Association. It is an annual meeting attended by NSB full and associates members of the MERCOSUR states parties.
The Deliberative Council shall consist of board members representatives from each full member, appointed by their NSB, with the purpose to oversee the manegement of all directives from the General Assembly.

The Associated members are the NSBs of the countries registered as Associated States in MERCOSUR. The Associated States are those members of ALADI with whom MERCOSUR subscribes free trade agreements, and which subsequently request to be considered as such.

The Executive President will be the Brazilian NSB representative and pursuant to art. 99 of Law 6.815/80 - Law on Foreigners in Brazil, that he will always be Brazilian by birth or legally naturalized. He is responsible for AMN's operational activities management in accordance with the strategic intelines previously defined by the Deliberative Council.

The Executive Secretariat is the administrative technical body that supports the AMN activities, making up its functional structure and directly subordinate to the AMN Executive President. It has the limit of its competence and powers set by the Deliberative Council, in accordance with the rules and regulations issued by the General Assembly. Its coordination will be in charge of the Executive Secretary.
